Newcomers Engagement Specialist, Halifax Public Libraries

Amani Saleh is the Newcomers Engagement Specialist with Halifax Public Libraries, Since March 2021.  Halifax Public Libraries is the largest public library system is Nova Scotia.  Amani’s role with the Library is focused on identifying newcomers’ needs, and connecting them to available government and community resources.  She also plans, designs, and delivers relevant programs that supports newcomers in their transition to their new lives in Nova Scotia.

Amani is a newcomer to Canada, originally from Egypt, and she decided to move here in 2019.  Prior to Canada, Aman had 25 years of various experience in community service works.  She has led different programs in the health and education sectors for marginalized communities.
