February 3, 2011
Theme for the 2011 conference

Transformations in resources, technology, legislation, services, and physical spaces are revolutionizing the way that we think about information. The 2011 Information without Borders (IWB) conference will address the complex role of information managers in locating themselves at the heart of change, meeting challenges and identifying trends. Using innovative solutions, communication, and collaboration, leaders in the field are creating rich, nuanced, responsible and responsive visions of the future. Join us in exploring the new information landscape at IWB 2011.

Purpose of the annual IWB conference

The Information without Borders conference is a student-led initiative by the School of Information Management at Dalhousie University. This one-day event provides a forum for interdisciplinary discussion on a central topic affecting all professions represented at Dalhousie's Faculty of Management.

IWB was designed to:

  • facilitate networking and communication amongst students, faculty, and professionals;
  • provide a forum for information pertaining to this year's conference topic;
  • promote interaction amongst schools in the Faculty of Management and other Dalhousie departments;
  • allow students to develop skills;
  • encourage students to present their current research.
